Twitter Search Functionality is Down

I have been trying to add a few people whom I admire to my following list for couple of days. But, Twitter keeps giving me messages " Search is down, Please be patient while we are trying to restore it". Frustrating. Since I'm new to twitter I want to play around with it, but I feel there is a bad luck between me and twitter. :-(
